Dogs - Having two dogs of our own, we appreciate how difficult it can be to leave them behind or find accommodation providers willing to accept them. At Craigend we are happy to accept a maximum of two well bahaved dogs with the same owner (unless sleeping overnight in a modified van) by arrangement and on the following conditions;
- Production of up to date Vaccination Cerificates
- Proof of Recent Flea/Tick Treatments
- Acceptance and commitment to abide by our 'Guidelines for Dog Owners'
- An additional cleaning charge of £5 per dog per night
In order for us to continue to make our accommodation available to dog owners it is important that our neighbours, other guests and the farmers nearby are not adversely affected in any way. The 'Guidelines for Dog Owners' outlines what we believe is appropriate conduct both inside the B&B and the countryside beyond. Some of the points may seem obvious, but in order to remove any ambiguity or misunderstandings we feel it best to be clear prior to arrival. Please contact us and we will email or send a copy of this document. Please note that following the arrival of our chickens, the garden will not be available to dog owners....but there is MILES of countryside for you to enjoy so no need to worry!

A word of reassurance to our other customers - We would like to reassure our other customers without dogs that when you book one of our rooms you will never know that a dog may have stayed previously. We work extremely hard to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and rooms that have been occupied by dogs are double cleaned before reletting. Dogs are only allowed in rooms with wooden washable floors which are steam cleaned after use Rugs and soft furnishings are changed and cleaned and we have a strict no dogs on furniture policy. Any customers with allergies are advised to book the Ardverikie Room which is never made available to dog owners.
Dogs are not permitted in the Ardverikie Room.
Dog Shows - We are also happy to accommodate attendees to Dog Shows at Lanark Market. We have ample parking space and are able to easily fit modified vehicles transporting a number of show dogs. We know that current Dog Show customers particularly like the fact that they are able to see and hear their dogs from the comfort of their own room, without affecting other guests. We are located at the end of a secluded dead end lane, with no traffic with lovely walks, ensuring that you and your dogs have a calm and relaxed night before the show.
