Sunday 3rdh – Saturday 9th June – Lanimer Week LANARK Every June the town of Lanark in Scotland
holds its Lanimer celebrations. The festivities reach a high point on
the Thursday of Lanimer week, when the town's schoolchildren parade in fancy dress with decorated vehicles, pipe bands, and a Lanimer Queen and her Court, who have been elected from local children.

21st July - Clyde Stride Ultra Marathon - LANARK, Lanarkshire The Clyde Stride 40 Mile Ultra Marathon follows the course of The Clyde Walkway along the River Clyde from Glasgow through Hamilton, Strathclyde Park, Lanark and New Lanark. The finishing line is in New Lanark World Heritage Site (adjacent to the entrance to SWT Falls of Clyde Wildlife Reserve). The race starts in Partick, Glasgow at 9am with the runners expected to be crossing the finishing line in New Lanark from around 1.30pm onwards.

3rd – 4th August –Highland Field Sports Fair– LANARKSHIRE
Lanarkshire is to host the 45th International Children's Games in 2011, following a
joint bid by North and South Lanarkshire Councils to bring the world's biggest youth
sporting event to Scotland for the first time. Up to 1,500 competitors aged 12 to 15,
along with coaches, administrators and delegates from around 80 cities worldwide
will head to Lanarkshire for the International Olympic Committee-recognised event
